What is a typical, or average score in HBR?
Luke, it really depends on the conditions...wind, mirage, etc. The main thing to remember is that you don't have to shoot a new record to win...you just need to shoot the best score on that day. Some days, the range will only give up so much.
With a Hunter gun, 200 yds. is where the fun really begins.
Don't get too concerned about all the rules and equipment right away. Just get to a match with your gun and gear and compete. You'll learn more in one days competition than in 5 years of watching. You'll have all sorts of people willing to help you once you get there.
Also, Holmen is undergoing major range renovation work this Summer so there won't be any registered matches held there this season. Not sure how far you are from Van Dyne (just So. of Oshkosh) but they host the NBRSA Wi. State Hunter Championships in July each year. Great shooters, great competition....lots of good times.
Come join the fun! -Al
