What do you guys use this bullet for. I was going to load it for a 25-06. Varmints? What velocities do you get?

I use it to FF in my 25-06 AI. I run it pretty mild though 3350. My intention was to use it for varmints but have only shot up gongs with them.

I just got a box to load up in my Bob. Plan on using them for coyotes. Got some 75gr. Amax's as well, but thinking the 85 BT may work better. Worst case, I'll just use my TSX 100 grainers.

I prefer the 75 Gr. VMAX - have used those for coyotes and prairie dogs. Pretty impressive results on prairie dogs out of my 257 Rbts!!

I suspect the 85 Gr. BTip would do the same.

Tried some loads in my 22" Montana Bob yesterday:

42.5 RL-15
3182, 3167, 3179, 3172
avg of 3175

43.0 RL 15
3221, 3259, 3215, 3246
avg of 3235

43.5 RL 15
3278, 3273, 3271, 3271
avg of 3273

Accuracy was best with the 43.0 load.

Think those can be pushed? I might try some H4895, but Nosler manual listed RL 15 as the fastest and most accurate powder they tried.

In my Bob 3300 is all they'll do with RL15, then it's hard to argue the results. The 75 Vmaxes will just touch 3500 if you need more speed. The yotes simply expire to either load though. I have gone to the 75 V max to avoid any confusion with the 100 BT. One never knows what mistakes they can make in a hurry to grab ammo.

The Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertip is the same bullet in different colors.

Kimber7man, off the top of my head it's H4198 but I'll go check my load notes at home for better info.

Kimber7man it was not H4198 it was H414 at 49,5 grains in my M77Mk2, 3497 was 5 shot average velocities from a 22" bbl. Win +p case WLR primer and Hornady 75 Vmax. Just a hair under 1" from my rifle at 100. Performance is, explosive to say the least. H414 performed the best under this bullet. Many of the other powders well underperformed the data in the Hornady book by some margin. H414 is on the data in the table for me. That little fact had me almost give up on the 75 Vmax as I though faster powder and less of it should be the rule for a bullet that light. Turns out the slowest listed was the best for me.
