I noticed yours in the pic. I like mine. I was waiting for it to come out. Usually I have enough self-discipline that I wait a couple of years for the hoopla to settle down and then get whatever gun I want for a "normal" price. On the Flattop, I bought the first one I saw, at Cabela's, no less. I bought another one a few months later for about $100 less.
.44 Blackhawk Old Model customized by Bowen with a 5.5" S&W barrel. I am currently putting a Bisley hammer and gripframe on the .44 so I will have to update pics. when I finish the project.

I picked up a 5.5" SBH that had been converted with a Bisley grip. It is a well balanced gun overall. Nice pics! "

ends up I cannot do the bisley conversion.
In order to make the bisley grip fit, it needs to be filed quite a bit beyond the "oversize" that you can file down. I ordered a old army steel GF instead

Here's the pic of my new(used) Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter .44 Mag. Just had the Weaver 2X put on Friday and still waiting for decent weather to shoot it.

Smith&Wesson 1992 629-3 Classic DX in 5 inch and a 629-4 Mountain Gun. I have wood combat grips for both but they are wearing their range grips. These two represent my favorite configurations of Smith .44 mags.

Qtip, NICE!

I gotta agree with the above, the "bestest" thread ever! I hauled around a basic S&W M29 for years. 21.0 gr H110 and a 245 gr. Keith bullet. Literally shot a couple tons of game with it, wore out some parts, got it refurbished, shot it some more, then passed it on to my nephew- who actually uses it- when the eyes got too old and the hands too arthritic. Going through this thread and reading and seeing all the pics of honest working handguns makes me wax philosophical. Thanks guys!
