This sounds like quite the setup. I've seen a couple of VTRs and like the triangular barrel design, never fired one but it looks really cool. What are the benefits of the "black oxide" coating, is it like a black Trinyte? The pictures I've seen look tempting...

I just read the specs. Can't imagine a 22" barrel in a 7 RUM or 300 RUM. Now that would be a firebreathing dragon that roars!

I went to the web page and noticed your concern about the 22 inch barrel. Some idiot at Remington put the wrong specifications at the bottom of the page. Those specs are for a different model of rifle. At the top of the page you might note it says the XHR comes with either a 24 or 26 inch barrel.

My hard copy of the '09 Remington catalog shows some interesting barrel length specs for the XHR:
22" in .25-06
25" in 7RM and .300WM
26" in 7 and .300 RUM
However, in the back of the catalog is a chart showing barrel length and twist:
24" in 7RM and .300WM
There is also an error between barrel lengths in the SPS in 7 and .300 RUM.

Perhaps Remington needs to budget a little money for proofreading?

I don't like them either if we are talking about the camo stock ones. I can see them selling and most will get 50mm scopes -grin-.

Scott,
I think it was dogzapper who told me that majority of Rem rifles are 13 3/8" LOP. Maybe I'm wrong again.... shocked
