I need to get an airline-worthy bow case for my compound, which one do you guys like and why? Is SKB the way to go?

Smoke Before I went to Africa I researched this same topic and everything pointed to SKB. They are spendy but you can imagine the lack of care some airline employee is gonna take with it. Hopefully some of the boys that travel alot with thier bows will chime in, it would be good to see if there is anything better now. Duane

Take a hard look at Kalispel. I used one of their double bow cases last September on my trip to Africa, couldn't be happier with a product.

The one I use is an adg:

I don't know how many air-miles it's logged, but a lot, & it has held up fantasticaly. If this one ever wears out, I'll buy another.

I've got some skb rifle cases & they're very well made too. One thing I'll never buy is a metal case, those are the only ones I've ever seen get destroyed.

I use the SKB. I think is the best case for the money. My case is over 8 yrs old and still works and looks fine.

I have owned three SKB cases... one was a Roto specifically made for the Mathews Legacy, the next was the compact bow case, and now I am using the 4114A which is pretty awesome (has wheels).

None were cheap but really all were a fraction of the cost of the goodies I put inside.

Cheers.

If you are set on SKB, I would look at the 2SKB-4119 or the 2SKB-4114A.

I myself have a the Kalispell BC431608 and it has been awesome for travel!

Check out their site, I am not sure there is a better built case with a better warranty. An additional advantage is their cases will hold 2 dozen arrows with the bow and quiver attached!

I purchased my Kalispell case at SCO and Scott was great to deal with.

Insurance isn't really a big deal with these companies, although if something were to happen with your SKB bowcase and/or contents, the airline has to submit the claim to the SKB not the you.

It's best if you can put your hands on both of them and put your gear in them to see which better fits your needs.
