Well my mailman just delivered a package from Karl and man am I a happy camper!!!

As always, Karl was great to work with, was always nice when I asked him dumb questions about things and well the work he did just turned out better than I imagined but hey its Karl right.

Anyway, here are the stats and some pictures - sorry for the poor quality of my photos I have a hard time posting them.

Ok, so this gun started life as a Remington model 700 CDL, 7mm08.

I had Karl do a few things to make it look pretty:)

trued model 700 action
Shilen SS Select Match barrel, 1-11 twist, #3 contour, 24" finished length
Alaskan Ti stock in tan/black web
Straight flute barrel - by Karl
Kampfeld recoil lug & double pin
Kampfeld Campfire bolt knob
Calahan bolt shroud & firing pin
Kampfeld action lightening - looks cool I think
Kampfeld side bolt release
Ti sytle bolt flute - flutes and action graphite black Cerakote
Karl skim bedding the action also and put everything together.
Total finish weight as it is now is 6lbs. 10oz. With the work done plus the stock switch I think the gun lost about a pound and the balance it perfect. Can't wait to get the scope on it and shoot it!!

That sure as heck doesn't suck! Side bolt release is the first I've seen on a 700 - very nice.

Nice rifle. Congrats.

Thanks everybody - this was my first try at something a little custom and I'm really happy with the results. It will be a few days before I get to shoot it, trying to decide if I want one piece Talley rings/bases which I have on order here from the campfire or if I go with DD Leupolds which I like a little better since they are lower. I also just saw some rifles posted on the blueprint thread that had some S & K mounts that look nice but I don't know much about them. Oh well will get it put together and post the results - I;m sure it will shoot just fine.

Very nice. If the twist is right, 120's should sing through that rig.

Cool! Good looking rifle.
Karl emailed me last week and told me to send all my parts in at the end of February so my turn is coming up.
I am thinking about doing the side release as well looks good and I'm sure functions better.

Hey I like that:) Did you just get that from Karl - he had mentioned he just finished another with the new action lightening he is doing plus the side bolt release - which works great by the way.
Nice looking rifle.
