Hey guys, so I got a question for ya'll. So yesterday we got the Colorado Big Game Brochure in the mail for 09. In the unit I am planning on hunting.. they have Either Sex tags avaliable in fist season and fourth season only. During sencond and third season they only have cow tags. Why is that? Why are there no bull tags issued for second and third season for a unit? Just curious.

Bull cow ratio may be out of whack and they want to get it back in line.

First season elk is usually a draw, the fourth season may also be draw only. The second and third may be covered by OTC tags. Cow tags are usually draw only.

Prwlr has pretty much nailed it on the head. The other thing you have to watch out for is if the cow tag is not a class B or C license. Then you can only have a OTC Bull or the cow tag if you draw it not both.

good points. I found out that the bull tags during second and third seasons are unlimited.. which makes sense. Thanks for your help.
