Its a shellholder from a Lyman Universal case trimmer.

Considering the 2 bolts/screws on either side of the shell holder it may have been used for trimming brass in a drill press maybe..?

I didn't think a drill press would be that accurate to trim cases with. I'll stick with my Forester.

I didn't think a drill press would be that accurate to trim cases with. I'll stick with my Forester. Yep, you can set the drill press for it's down stroke and it will work very well at trimming brass cases.

That was the "hot set up" at one time for trimming and turning necks on a drill press!
