I bought a brand new Remington 700 CDL in 270 winchester and had it rebarreled and reblued in 280 remington. I mounted a 3-9 VXll and it absolutely loves hornady factory 139 SSTs. I;m waiting for a set of dies so I can try some 140 partitions.

Good on you. My brother grabs mine all the time but he is buying his first rifle (.30-06) so I might get mine back. It is a BDL but I had the stock replaced with a HS Precision and it wears a 6x36 Leupold. It shoots 140gn Woodleighs well and when they run out I have some 140gn Partitions and Accubonds to try.
Thank you very much.

I just can't see why Remington only chambers this round in the alaskan Ti. a factory CDL in 280 is bound to be a much better seller than a 7RUM

I've always wanted an early Remington Mtn. Rifle (w/o the detachable magazine) in .280
Found one about about a month ago at a gun shop over in MN. Bluing is in great shape, bolt looks like it's hardly been cycled, but the finish on the stock is messed up. Looks like it was put in a gun case wet or something.
Asking 529.00 I think? I'm broke right now, but I'm hoping it sticks around and I'm able to pick it up really cheap sometime this summer.
Life is just one damned thing after another

A hunting companion has a .280 Remington in the custom shop Kevlar stock that is not a thing of beauty, but it really shoots.
Why Remington doesn't offer this in the CDL and some other models baffles me.

I think the answer posted about sales is probably correct as die sales for 2007 stood at 35th place. Cheers NC
