I've never been charged by a big cat, but I was in combat and the first time I was in a firefight, I am pretty certain that I was quite unable to make ANY noise at all.
I wouldn't say boo about someone hitting an octave only dogs can hear when facing down an animal intent on killing him. If you want to walk a mile in his shoes, just keep in mind that he was using those shoes to kick a pissed-off, wounded leopard off of himself.

There was another incident in Botswana a few years back, involving Chip Payne, a VERY popular videographer of such safari films. Oddly enough theres no video of this but it was pretty well documented. PH, Hunter and trackers exit the truck to pick up the trail of a wounded leopard, Chip and Hunters son, stay behind in the rear of the truck. Leopard decides to start the fray by charging past PH and hunter, gets in the back of the truck and starts mauling the hunter's son. Chip knows cameras, not guns, but he makes a couple passes through the truck, comes up with a .375 and a bullet, and wades in, killing the leopard off the kid. I am told he does not need to buy his own drinks in any bar in sub-saharan Africa.... Ingwe

Uberti is building a Howdah pistol in 20 bore, a double barrel percussion gun of serious mien, and, I suspect, a fairly substantial bark and bite. After watching that cat on incoming, I think my plans for purchasing such an arm just moved up a notch on the schedule....

Just saw the video and I don't know if I will be able to loosen my sphincter for the rest of the week....
Hard to imagine what is going through the mind of those PH's when the [bleep] hit the fan, but it looks like they were attending to business as best as they could under the circumstances.

The guy being attacked did a lot of things right once the leapord was on him. He kept his knees up so the leapord's rear claws didn't disembowel him (which is what they're built for), he kept the rifle between himself and the leapord's jaws and he kicked him clear. All of that demonstrated damn good instincts in a bad situation. Of course the trick is to kill him before he gets on you.

If I was leopard hunting I would have a
FN FAL/L1A1 7.62 Colt Python .357Mag. Large Bowie Knife
and backed up by a PH with a double rifle in .470NE.......even then I would not feel secure!!!!
