Simple, reliable, accurate, easy to maintain, easy to carry, lots of aftermarket support, lots of full cap mags at $25. Ammo is cheaper than other calibers and readily available (though not lately).

To me, this is the perfect utilitarian, no-nonsense handgun for the working man.

Does anyone have one?

Had one. Shot well, but didn't carry as well as other pistols, nor fit my hand as well. Sold it. And, didn't think twice about it.

It's good, likely great, but a long way from "perfect".

That said, if it works for you, run with it.

I've never been a Glock fan, but if I were ever to buy one, the 19 is the one I'd buy. And good call on the .22 conversion unit. Everyone should have a conversion unit for their defense guns.

I do and it's one of my favorites.

BTW - how do you like that AA 22lr conversion and what kind of accuracy do you get with it?

With Remington bulk ammo, the kit ran great. Very reliable and pretty accurate. Haven't tried it with the Federal bulk but it should be just as good.

I am not a Glock fan, the grip angle makes me shoot high when point shooting. They are good guns, but not the best made by a long shot.

Got a 19 and freaking love it...matter of choice. Mine is one of the new 19's with Austrian proof marks! It is what it is but Glock is super reliable and 9mm is (I'm going to get killed for this!) a great round when the nice, new ammo choices are utilized and you do your part! C'mon...15+1 and you can't get it done???? NO, I don't want to hear about the perp that is meth'ed out and on roids and crack, and just drank 12 red bulls and a fifth...think about it!

I've got one and like it a lot. I'm not in love with it like a couple of my 1911s, but it's a hellavu good gun for what it is. I put my 1911s away last summer and shot the G19 exclusively in IDPA just to really give it a good workout and I came away impressed. It's probably the best of the Glock lineup.

Probably the second most reliable Glock handgun... right behind the G17. It is a workhorse package and is at least as reliable, maybe more so than some, as other high quality semi-auto handguns. Not foolproof, but a decent working gun if it fits your hand and you shoot it well.

I've owned a few Glocks (m17, m23, m27, m22) and I've ended up selling them all. The only one I kinda wished I'd kept was the m23. It handled and shot really well for me. I sold it in a fit of stupidity because I thought I would prefer the smaller m27. I was wrong.

Glocks don't hold much interest for me anymore because they ruined them with the stupid finger ridges. It never fails that grips with such ridges NEVER fit my hand properly and I end up with the high spots poking into the middle of my fingers. If Glock would start offering their guns with the CHOICE of finger ridges or not, my interest in replacing the m23 might be rekindled.

This is my carry package when on the rare occasion the S.O. asks me to help out. The G19 is a good all around tool IMHO.

Just got my first G19 yesterday for a song. It is a Gen. 2 made in early '92 and looks like its had maybe a box through it. Looks like it's never been in a holster. No wear or dust anywhere on it. Has the plastic sight slot fillers, but will soon round up some suitable steel sights with wide rear notch and very visible front. Oh, and six new G19 mags.

Only downside is it seems to have one of the heavier New York triggers.

I sold mine to a buddy at work and replaced it with the Glock 23 in 40.

For me, it's the perfect carry gun. Some pistols feel better in the hand, some have better triggers, some have a slimmer profile but the G19 is the perfect balance of all of them for me.

If it has the NY1 (olive color) trigger spring put in 3.5 lb connector and you will be back to the 5.5 lb pull but it won't have the slack take up but feel more like a DA revolver. That is what I have in mine and it works quite well, have also done said conversion for several customers without a single come back.

I currently have 3 G19s at home and carry one at work. I have a high opinion of the gun. Lightweight, compact and high capacity in an easy to shoot, easy to maintain, ultra reliable platform.

Narrowpath, what type of accuracy are you seeing with the 22LR conversion kit?

some hate them but you cannot argue that they are are simple, rugged, dependable, and "accurate enough".
