We use them in the Chesapeake Bay for stripers. I am going to try the Gulp eels next week on a jig head for stripers.

I use live shrimp under a cork for Spotail bass. I have used DOA shrimp lures for trout and spotail with limited success. I guess I should'nt expect "Better than Live Bait " from these.

Very good for Specks and Reds. Been using them all winter with great results. Outfishes plain plastics most of the time.

No way in the world they will beat live bait but Gulp's (especially the New Penny version) will out-fish regular plastic or crank type lures every time. I know from experience fishing Baffin Bay on the Texas coast with a buddy that uses them;they will do the trick. However,do not throw mangled, used Gulp's overboard;recently a Red was caught with about 15-20 Gulp's in it's stomach. Ive used them when we went fishing in Florida last Feburary for Redfish. They work very well. We were using the 3" white shrimp and hammering the Redfish on them. I wouldnt say that they outfish live bait, but they work very well. Now during the summer when we go the florida the DOA shimp (brown with a red flake) works very well in the backwaters for Snook. My largest snook at 37" was caught on a Chrome Zara Spook. Gotta love the blast they make when they hit a topwater lure. And for beach fishing theres a 3" Yozuri thats white and a little translucent that works great in clear waters in the Siesta Key area.

When the fish are 'on' I'll switch over to fake stuff, but when looking or when they are just kind of on, I'll use bait.

I've used the gulp grub tales and also the small herring on a teaser hook about 18" above the jig. The certainly seem to fish better than traditional grubs, and the little herring on the stinger hook acounted for quite a few rock fish.
