I have been playing with 130 gr. eTip's in my T3 270 win. with no luck so after several poor outings I tried RL22. Started low at 54 gr (2 inch groups) but once I got up to 58 grains I was get a ragged hole with three shot groups. I am setting the length to the max that fit in the clip.
Has anyone else had luck with the etips?
Next week I will take the chrony and check speed then start working on 150 gr eTips for the 30-06

I have loaded 130 gr ETip under H4831SC & RL22 for 2 of my 270's. I ran head to head comparison with TSX's. I am thrilled with the accuracy of both bullets, and got my best accuracy at 3,000+ fps, which is where I like to be with this caliber. I got slightly better accuracy with the 4831SC, but RL22 was no slouch.

How do the e-tips work at long range? I have tried barnes and they do well out to about 350 yrds, then they start to scatter.

I have shot groups out to 300 yards, as that is the max I have available. Both bullets were doing fine to that point.

My long range shooting is at metal plates only, the local range has paper only out to 300 yards. I am hitting the 300 yrd steel gong ever shot. Will load more this week to try 400 to 600 yards.
I have more time shooting with Barnes, using the 168 gr comp TSX hit each steel plate at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards ever try.

This morning I was able to put in some range time before work. With my T3 lite 30-06. 150 gr eTip IMR-4350 59 gr. @ .5 MOA using 61.5 gr of RL-19 was nearly .5 MOA Both loads were OAL 3.334 which just cleanly fits in my T3's clip. I have found that both Barnes and eTips in my .270, 30-06 and 7 RM like this length.
