this is a 62 merc, not a 64 galaxie, but it is a 4 dr box top like weezy's car. And it's a photoshop mock up, not real, and it's also lower than we would shoot for, but it gives the general flavor for what we are shooting for with her 64 galaxie.

I'm thinking vanity plates that say "LIMBO". ya know-how low can ya go. how low can ya go.

Pretty cool. I hope weezy understands what she's gettin'. way cooler than what the other kids are driving.

We never could have low cars in duluth. too many hills and the roads were to schitty.

I remember going to a car show as a kid. At the mall in duluth. A guy with a 64 or 65 Comet, straight axle, skinny tires, bracket racer, all dressed up, rolls in to the lot. For some reason he had his headers and exahust really really low. Lower than the oil pan. He jumped the curb to park his car and tore one of the open on the curb. crazy

I'm going to Duluth this weekend. I'll try to get some pics of pa's ranch. You'll like all that old steel at that place.

not shaving the handles just yet.

If you shave em you need actuators & door poppers... more $ grin

we're just shooting for a clean respectable mild custom that she can have some fun with in the non arctic months.

I can't wait to see her swinging that colum shifter through the gears... crazy

The first time I ran the gears on my 55 my old man about came unglued. I was 15 and still learning. I was down shifting into first and it wouldn't go, so I pushed harder, and it wouldn't go, and I pushed harder and it wouldn't go. The steam started to come out of his ears at that point.

She wasn't a syncro. That was a bit of info that I could have used before I tried it. grin

So does she get to run the F350 in the winter months?

I've actually driven it myself.

I was very surprised at how well it falls into it's gears. Must be syncro.

actually very smooth.

but you can bet it will be frustrating training none the less.

I ment the 350. laugh

I think the cars were syncro. My truck is (was) a 3sd w/od. I had to push in a lever by my knee, and let off the throtle, then it shifted into o.d. Floor it and it downshifted into 3 and you could pull out the lever to take it out. once I got the hang of it, it was fine.

She'll do fine. Can she drive a stick now?

There are 3 different ways to get in the drawing (I'll spare everyone the details) but it does require a trip to LVD in Watersmeet, MI.
