I noticed Hawk Bullets makes a wide variety of 348 dia bullets. I read all the info on the site, but does anyone have any first hand experience with any weight they offer?

I shot quite a few .358, 250 grain 0.030 Jacket thickness in my .356. I wanted a 250 grain bullet that gave me a decent group. I could never get a consistent group with Hawk bullets. They would give me an awesome group once, and open up widely on the next group. I finally switched to Kodiak bullets in 250 grain. I have also shot the 180 grain and 165 grain in .308, and 160 grain in .284, but they none of these were impressive enough for me to get any more after my first purchase.

Where did you say we are going? And why are we in this handbasket?

Hi,
Will speak for a bunch of friends and myself, french hunters who reload Hawk. We use their bullets with a lot of satisfaction in such calibers as: 348Winch (180,220,250) 356/8winch (200), 35Whelen (200), 270Winch (165/180)for driven hunts, 444Marlin (250,265,300), 45-70 (350/400)heavily loaded, 9x57Mauser, 9,5x57Mannlicher, .50Alaskan. Easy to laod, very effective on game with expansion and weight retention, less pressure than other bullets so can get a bit more velocity increasing loading and good hunting accuracy.
In 45-70 350 and 400grs really flatten boars! Waiting to see the big 50.
Andy Hill is efficient and a real good guy with a good service even for faraway customers, prices good too.
