I think they will be worth more than a standard rifle, but do not plan on it being part of your retirement funds. I have a 336 LTS made in 1988 or 89. It is a trapper similar to the Maurader and Marlin only made around 2000 of them, they will bring about $100 more than a standard 336.

I also have one of the 336LTD's. It looks just like the stainless guide gun, only in 35 Rem. They only made 500 of these as well. I have seen a few for sale at around $200 more than I paid in 2005. While I saw them for sale I didn't see any buyers, so who knows.

Just a guess! I'm going to say that for it to be worth the effort to set up the machinery to make something different, they would need to sell at least 500 rifles. If a distributor approaches Marlin or any other company they are promising to buy at least 500. Both Marlin and the distributor can charge a premium and the buyer gets to hunt with or at least own something rare.

yeah that makes sense the only problem is that you have to pay more than what you would have to because who ever has it can make what ever price they want i've already seen a $200 dollar difference from different websites wene its a factory gun they all have to stay pretty much the same. but i guess it dont matter cause they got me anyway i ordered mine the other day
