Exit B3 off I-90 (Kinderhook-Hudson), rt 9 south to rt 203 into Valatie, NY. Shooters Sports is about 8 miles off I-90. Ask for Patsy, tell her Jeff sent you. It's a little hole in the wall with reasonable prices on used guns (she loves cash deals). There's a shooter 99EG in .300 asking $450, a tired model 23B (25-20)$275, a tired/refinished 1899 250-3000 that she's probably tagged at $600 by now(...I guess all the good Savage deals are at my house), but she has a couple dozen vintage bolt guns and several model 100 Winchesters.
B&J sports in Albany (quite a way off I-90, though) has a rack of over-priced 99s, bunch of over-priced Winchester levers. He likes black rifles, and doesn't know his old hunting guns very well, so there might be some hidden treasures. There's a bow shop there too. He has a branch store on rt 20, East Greenbush, NY, and another in Schenectady, NY..worth a phone call to Brian at B&J if you're looking for something particular.
There is a old-timer shop in Utica, north side of town, can't remember the name. They definitely know an old Savage when they have one.
...oh, and Massachusettes, make sure your weapons are in a locked case, and the ammo is locked up somewhere else (home, for instance).
