Know what you mean.Spend more time looking at it than reading posts.

WGM, I see it the same way, you pretty much nailed it.

As noted in an earlier post, it is impossible to name just one Zep song. Here are mine:
Dancing Days Houses of the Holy (song) Fool In The Rain

That song still gets me!!!
As far as interesting history..............the whole album "Presence" Robert Plant sung from a wheelchair.
In the beginning the were known as "The New Yardbirds." Page had gigs under contract to fill!

ok ... after thinking about it a while, I have decided on a few that have to be on my somewhat short list ... in no particular order ...
Good Times, Bad Times Over the Hills and Far Away Ramble On Ten Years Gone Down by the Seaside Fool in the Rain Tangerine The Song Remains the Same Your Time is Gonna Come
Thing is, looking over a list of their songs - like I already said - it's easier to name the few I don't really care that much for, than it is to create a real "short list" ...
Now, I'm just waiting for someone to start a thread of "The best Pink Floyd song" ... (grin)

Blue Suede Shoes after the house lights came up, 1969, Nashville, Tennessee. Just kidding, sort of ...
Best concert I ever saw. The '50's medley that served as an encore was amazing.
Who can say the best single Zep song? I'll go with Zep II as one the four or five best rock albums ever recorded. Two others are Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Beatles) and Let It Bleed (Stones).
The Page/Plant tour a few years back was nifty. Still haven't heard the Plant/Kraus cooperative effort.

In fact, it would be a LOT easier to throw out a song or two that I don't care for that much, than to try to pick the few that I think top the list ... Exactly. My least favorite Zep song is easily Stairway to Heaven. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. I actually like the later, less heavily played stuff over the first four albums. Of course, that may be because I was forced to listen to them constantly in high school. Don't listen to that much Zep any more, and don't have any desire to see that (former) friend.
This is a shooting forum, there is no place here for logic.

my only 'issue' with Stairway to Heaven is that it's just been played toooooo many times, and unfortunately it's gotten old and tired - despite being a very good song ...

How the heck did I miss this thread?!?!
Kashmir by far due to my awsome system that it plays on.
