The U.P. - up around the bottom of Keweenaw for me. The wife doesn't fancy 20+ ft of snow a season though.

Near here: http://www.exploringthenorth.com/porkiesum/intro.html

I could do Alaska or Montana.

I would love to live somewhere IN CANADA far enough back in the sticks where I could pack my sidearm without fear of prosecution. After 30 years of lugging 34-40 oz of cold blue steel on a right hip, feel nekkid without it. Might even buy either a 1911 or a Colt SAA in 45 LC if I got the opportunity - probably just a dream . . . . . but dreaming is cheap.

Lived in the San Luis Valley in Colorado for 17 years, then Cody, Wyoming for 25 years, then migrated to Billings, MT and do not miss the wind of those other places. This is just about as good as it gets.

Not as pretty as Wy. or Co., but doesn't take long to get there. In fact, I'm going to Colo. on a fishing trip the last of May. Gonna be fun.

Had the biggest fried pork chop sandwich I've ever seen last November in Billings.

Someplace around the Lewiston ID/Clarkston WA area... close to Hell's Canyon, not too far from salmon and steelhead fishing, and five decent hunting states within driving distance. Well, four plus Oregon.

Or someplace in SE AK.

I'd like a small city in or near the Montana or Idaho mountians (or maybe Oregon). It would need decent medical facilities, a good library, a college or university, near hunting and fishing and, some decent shopping.

Montana between Kalispell and Hamilton fits the bill (Missoula?)
Idaho, in the Boise area, also is a possibility.

I can't recall the name of the place, it was near'ish the interstate and a Sport's Bar, thinking the Grand Ave might sound right.

Don't think I realized you lived there, was only a night stop on my drive across country.

Grand Av. is two to three miles north of the interstate so could have been one of several places.

Holler ahead of time the next round, if ever.
