Grizz, you are right we do have quite the fishery going and the big lake can bite you on a moments notice. I have a 270 Sea Ray Amberjack fully equipped for Great Lakes fishing. I can still take my mate +4 people at a time. Come visit...and that applies to everyone here...

Dusty said he probably wouldn't type much here. He checks the forum here regularly though. Dusty, I'm back online at home so that means my new computer is up & running. We had to retire our old dinosour PC & replace with a new one.

So far so good.

What did you get Dave? We are looking to do the same thing here. Probably won't be until fall though. I use the wife's work PC when it is here. Other wise it all at work. whistle

It's all HP stuff, the computer, monitor, and a pretty cool printer/scanner/poier sort of thing that does photos.

I got it up & running last night, so far so good I guess.

Tom, any luck fishing? Pretty slow on Connors. I managed to get one Smallie and had two other bites Saturday. Wind made it rough to mantain any kind of boat control so we ended up anchoring.

Talked to others at the landing they they claimed it was pretty slow on other lakes too.

Microsoft has a new operating system in the works and I'm trying to keep the old Dell running until it comes out. Vista just isn't the OS it was touted to be.

Bill,

Pretty slow, but we didn't fish that much. 1.5 in the evening. It was all bluegills and perch. It was windy durring the day, so we just set up the campers most of the day. Went into Seeley and got a truck load of firewood, cut/stacked it. Put the awnings on the campers, tops on the screen tents, that kind of stuff.

I brought my son up there, and he was in his heyday. He loved it. He never stopped talking or moving until it was time for bed. I don't even think we were inside the camper except to sleep.

I'm going to the Chip on the 15th. That should be really going by then. I have my turkey tag this week so I'll be off work starting Wed. All the Toms I've seen are all hened up, so we'll have to work a bit for them.

Tom, just checked the fishing reports on Lake-links.com and the guys fishing the Phillips Chain did ok. The wind was a big issue for us on Saturday.

Good luck with the turkeys.

Those lakes in Phillips were busy. The parking lots looked pretty full.

Hopefully I'll have some pics for you sometime Wed. smile

walleye opens up again this coming weekend.

I'm supposed to go sturgeon fishing with Dusty & the boy this weekend but I'm wondering if they know sturgeon closes this week on Wed? I think you can still fish em but you just have to release them? (which we would anyways)

Did some more digging into fishing reports from this weekend. Most of the walleyes caught in the area I was in were caught on crankbaits in 2/3 feet of water.

A few guys reported trolling in 9 to 12 feet and catching fish. Jig fisherman were not doing much.

Water temps were running 46 to 49 degrees.

Dave,is your fishing shack stil out on the ice? What do you do with it until next season?
Turkey season has ended here.I only managed to go one time and saw four birds on that trip.
I want to experiment with some .44 magnum reloads so I purchased a Rossi single shot break open with black synthetic furniture.Man,what a shooter that is!I put an older Weaver K4 on it and loaded up some 300 grain bullet reloads.Great accuracy!

Stan, one of my coffee buddies bought a Rossi from Gander Mountain in a 223. He's really impressed with it. Came with scope bases and a sling. He paid around $130 for it.

oh heck that fish house has been off the lake for months now.

it's sitting in the yard on a trailer right now, I'll probably put it on blocks for the summer so I can use the trailer.
