I was watching television earlier today and the new Bowmadness commercial came one. Tiffany Lakosky narrorates for the Drury Bros television show for Bowmadness. Needless to say the Drury Bros. are sponsered my PSE when as of last I knew of Lee & Tiffany were sponsered my Matthews. At the end of the commercial Tiffany (narrartor) said something to the affect of catching up and passing their competition (referring to Matthews). They also said the bowmadness is the fastest single cam bow out there, but the Reezen 6.5 is rated 10fps faster? If Lee and Tiffany are still sponsered my Matthews thats pretty crappy on their part to talk about a bow company thats sponsering them.

Not the commerical I saw but start watching around 3 min 30seconds and they say its the "Fastest single cam" and made the Matthews comment. Sorry to tell them but the Reezin is the faster than the Bowmadness.

I'd imagine that commercial was shot before they switched sponsors. Whatever company pays them the most is who's product they'll tell you is the greatest..it is business after all. Next year it'll be something different.

Ok I asked some guys on the Matthews forum and this is what I found out. The girl that narrorates for Drury and for Lee & Tiffany is in fact NOT Tiffany. She is the wife of the producer of both shows. I always thought it was here but you learn something new everyday. But, I beg to differ that Bowmadness is the fastest single cam out there the Reezin got it beat.

Everytime I hear her voice it makes my ears bleed. Probably the reason I don't watch the show.

I never understood why people get upset about this. Do people really just go and buy the bow a TV personality says to? I just went out and got the one I shot and liked the best.

Hunting shows are like watching porn: you watch to fantasize about getting a shot at something you're not likely to encounter on your own.

I bought a Martin, based on 2 things. One, the price for the options I wanted, and two, The weeks of research I did on my own to give myself an unbiased, educated idea of what I really needed in a bow. Martin is likely one of the LEAST advertised bow companies on the Outdoor Channel, but I simply do not give a sh#*. Maybe Martin puts their time and effort, along with their CASH into making quality bows, not paying someone to tell me which bow to buy, I dunno. Anyway, I drive a Chevy, shoot a Savage, and drink cherry Kool-ade, not because somone told me to, but because that's what I like. smile smile

This is correct. It's Mark's wife, not Lee's cuddlecake...... smile

Just get you a stopwatch out and see how much hunting time vs. commercialism and filler time there is! I clocked less than 5 minutes of hunting on one show recently.

It is all about who is paying the bills. There are precious few people on TV that aren't pimped puppets. Whoever is sponsoring them or paying the bills (commercials) has the best, fastest, longest lasting products. Look at NASCAR, Rifle hunters, sports icons etc. One day they are Gatorade puppets, the next they are Powerade, one day Leupold, the next Bushnelle (I really feel for anyone that has to pimp Bushnelle). Same with the gun rag writers. I take little stock in anything anyone says that is sponsored or endorsed in any way. Flinch

I spent a day at the local archery pro shop shooting bows. I'm going back this morning because they're putting a new set of strings and cables on my 101st Airborne. I shoot 61 pounds at 29 1/2" and with 85 grain tips and Easton Flatline arrows at 7.4 gpi I get 302 fps. I can't pull a 70 since my rotor cuff tear two years ago. The pro shop is waiting for a new PSE that has an IBO somewhere around 360 that he said isn't bad to draw. He shot samples a couple weeks ago. If I can't draw the thing, the IBO isn't going to mean much but I'd sure like to try.

BTW, I go through 2 or 3 sets of strings and cables a year. I had 1 Matthews bow (Switchback) and went through 3 sets of strings in 1 Summer. The Zebra strings division manager told me they were having a problem with some strings. I brought the bow back because it was making a nice loud crack near full draw but since then, I have run into dozens of archers with the same problem. They'd buy the bow and leave it right on the counter for a set of Winner's Choice or other custom strings. My archery pro, who makes strings, said that all solocam bows go through strings faster because they're twice as long. If they stretch 0.1% even, you're toast. I measure the ATA on my bows with new strings. If they are 1/8" out, they go to the shop for twists or new strings because I'll be moving my pins every couple sessions chasing my groups if I don't.
