I just picked up a 300 win mag Tikka T3 Stainless, lefty. Scope came with mounts and rings from the factory. I am looking at putting on either a Leupold VX11 3-9x40 or 3-9x50. Does anybody know if the 50 mm lense will clear the barrel with the factory mounts?

It would be nice to know if I have to replace the mounts before I order the scope.

Thanks

I installed a 50mm Zeiss on a Tikka for someone and the guy had supplied some replacement rings because he said the originals didn't work. I never saw the originals though.

Even though they were rebranded Beretta/Tikka it was clear the higher replacement rings were Millett made junk. I told the guy to change them for something better ASAP. If the originals you have are also Milletts you'll want to get something better anyway.

I have a 3.5-10x VXIII 50mm on my 338 Win Mag T3. The Talley two piece medium work just perfect. Here's a link to the product on Midway USA. Put some blue loctite on the base screws.
