Im on a verizon air card at home right now. S....L....O.....W

Look at the local phone company for DSL, you should be able to get just that thru the phone line, also check for local DSl provider's. You shouldn't be required to get a landline for it. Cheaper than Cable internet too, and I personally prefer DSL over Cable. Les

Kind of, check with Windstream, http://www.connectutilities.com/directory/details/TypeID-7-UtilityID-4179-MarketID-1000.html They are rated fairly decently. DSL is the one that rides the phone line. Call me if ya got any question, it is easier for me to explain. Les

If you already have cable, your cable company should be able to add internet service and just charge you the difference. That would be the zippy way to go.

Get yourself a wireless router (about $75 or less), park it next to the TV, and connect through that.

That's pretty much what I'm doing at the moment.

We've got a wireless antenna on the roof that picks up a signal from town from a local service provider. Have to be within line of sight I believe, surely you've got a similar provider in your area.

As Les said DSL if you can get it. I had a land line and they just converted to DSL. Qwest, my carrier, now has 1.5 MBS all the way up to 12 MBS depending upon the area.

Here's two things I learned about wireless Internet at least in my area (Helena, MT).

1. The low end of residential service is usually 1.5MBS download speed and 512KBS up load speed.

2. The maximum amount of data that can be uploaded or downloaded per mouth is 20,000 to 30,000 MB per month. Any thing over that and you start to pay by the MB which can be quite expensive.

Do give Les a call and let him educate you on this stuff before you part with your hard earned money.

DSL is OK if it is all you can get.

Off a wireless router on cable, I just tested my system at 4 MB download, 6.7 MB upload.
