I was expecting a picture of some Chinese guy.

It probably is a Chinese guy. Named "Lemington."

The guys who buy Remington acquisitions are not the guys who make Remington rifles and shotguns.

I believe they have done a good job with Remington and see no reason to think the change will not be good for Dakota. 163bc

I care about the good people who've been suffering from chicanery and could've been about to suffer a lot worse including but not limited to a number of my good friends. These things don't come to pass in vacuo or without adversely affecting a lot of innocent, worthy people, you know.

I ain't so sure this is a good thing....Large Corporate Bean Counters will seek to maximize profit at the expense of quality.
It would have been nice if a small group of hunters & shooters had aquired it.
Oh well...

If quality goes south, which it probably will, I'm sure another company will (hopefully) pop up to fill the niche.....that USED to be the American way.
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

I have a couple of Dakota rifles. I wonder if this means their market price is going up.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I could get some Remington brand name .330 Dakota ammo at a reasonable price now too.

I meant "who cares" as in,"Who cares that the bean counters who own Remington and a bunch of other places now own Dakota too."
They will end up firing whoever still works at Dakota, put their own people in there, and start cranking out some overpriced POS that kinda-sorta looks like a Dakota. That's SOP for these companies.American Rifleman and Shooting Times and Rifle and all those rags will hype the "new and improved" Dakota as the best thing since the pre-64 Model 70,Mom's apple pie and latex condoms, and the usual suspects that have that sort of disposable income will all rush out and buy one. After a few years, sales will taper off,and they will just disappear from the catalog, and they will just become another footnote in firearms history.
When Don Allen died,so did Dakota Arms.

You have a good point about DON ALLEN. Still the Miller Arms single shot is a vary fine action. Nesika bay actions are mighty fine.
