Cool. Dave, El Capitain, and Uncle Dusty get to post new pics in October. smile

Fishing was fair this AM. Went out with a buddy today and we caught a few cats, about a dozen walleyes, and the star of the show was a 36" northern I caught on Rapala, Tail Dancer. I'll post some pics when I get around to it. Big wide sob too. No idea how much he weighed, but I'd say 10-12lbs. It was real beat up too, from spawning I'm guessing, but it is kind of late for that. It was in a bunch of rocks, so that could be it too.

Later.

It is Sunday evening and we have been busy all weekend.Friday morning we drove to Alabama and Friday night and Saturday evening there were several get togethers of my high school class on the occasion of our fiftieth year since graduation in 1959.
We came home late last night and this morning drove to North Carolina for Linda's annual family reunion. What a great time in both places.I saw some people at the high school reunion that I have not seen in 50 years.

Fun weekend at chickenbuck.

The older boy graduated from his honda xr 70 to this:

we did some trail riding out in the forest & checked on the blueberry outlook.

I'd say it looks promising for wild blueberries.

a few more pics from a trail ride today.

Stan, one thing I've noticed at our class reunions is how much everyone except me has aged. laugh

Looks like the oldest son is really enjoying his new ride.

Crappy weekend here. Rain and cold. Supposed to rain all day today.

Fifty years, cool Stan!

Dave, looks like fun in that pit! Where's your bike? grin My friend bought a bike for his boy, then several months later, one for himself. He said he had never been so sore as he was after the first few times he was riding it.

Here is the northern from this weekend. Nice heavy fish, fat right to the tail.

Notice the big gouge on her side. Any ideas? It wasn't a bite mark.

Nice cat my buddy was afraid of, and wouldn't touch. grin

We had a good time on Saturday. I went "up north" to a different lake on Sat. night. We planned to fish all night, but it was pouring pretty good. We hit the lake at 4am, and fished in the cold and rain until noon and called it a day.

We caught about 15 smallies. The biggest was 19" and the smallest was about 14". Believe it or not, some of them we caught in 26' of water.

It was a fun, wet, weekend.

it's not a lamprey scar is it Tom?

prop rash? They've been known to make a striking pass at a boat prop....

looks like fun & looks like the new boat is working well for you.

it looks like a lamprey scar. I don't know if we have those here or not. If they are in that water, I would say that is what it is. There were some more nics closer to the tail as well.

Now that I think about it, she went between the boat and the bowmount twice, it could be from that. Somehow the line didn't get caught on the minnkota, it did have to pick it up to get my rod through there each time she went through. My other thought was the rocks. It was caught along the rip rap in the background of the pictures.

those riding trails...are you guys in a pit, or can you take a bike on the trails there. We can't ride xcross bikes on the atv trails here, big no no.

we have trails designated for snowmachines, atv's & bikes.

We used trails designated for atv-bikes to get to that pit & then back to the cabin.

Looks like fun.

We used to have a trail here that went to a pit...but some clown used his atv and pushed a van into one of the pit ponds, 60' deep, and that put the kibosh to riding in the pit. We spent more time in the pit than on the trails. Lots of fun.

Tom, nice smallies (Pike too). I'd be handling the catfish the same way your friend did. Never did like having to pick up bullheads or cats.

Had to make a trip to the VA in Tomah today for a hearing check. Someone ran off of 173 down by the cranberry marshes and ended up in the ditch with mud and water a 1/4 way up the door. No injuries.

Yeah, I think so too Dave. Stripers are just one of the many things you can catch in Lousville... wink
