How much is involved in this? Looking at schematics it doesn't look difficult. Or would I be better off letting a 'smith do it?
Thanks

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

It's very easy. The only tools required it an allen wrench or screwdriver for the BAS.
Remove the Bolt Assembly Screw- the one that holds the bolt handle on.
Remove or slide up the cocking sleeve- there are two types.
Remove the cocking pin.
Remove firing pin assembly.
Remove the cross pin.
Remove the bolt head.
Assemble in reverse order.
I can do it about 3 times in the time it took to type this.

you might need a straight screw driver if its an older savage instead of an allen wrench.

Not yet. Just ordered the bolt head. Probably be a week or two before I get around to attempting the swap.
