I am re-barreling to a 338-06 and am really struggling to decide between these three bullet weights for hunting. I plan on hunting deer, black bear and possibly moose with this load, and am currently leaning towards the 225's. Anyone with experience with this round want to give me their opinion? Thanks!

I would take a look at the Nosler 210 gr PT. It will do everything you want in the 338-06.

Shooting 225gr Accubonds in my 338-06 Ackley. 0.5" 3 shot groups from new brass to fireform brass and break-in barrel..Now to see what the Ackley version brass will do.
Have 225gr TTSX's but I love the Accubonds in all my other calibers.
210's will do good too.

Based upon what you describe as proposed use I'd go w/ 225s. Graf & Sons has 225 gr Sierras on sale for only $24/100 right now: http://www.grafs.com/product/251281

The 200 grain Accubond works quite well on elk. Now that I've found some 210 grain Partitions, those may be my first choice. Partitions have always done the job.

Bought an unfired 26" .338-06 Shaw barrel off the board, threaded for a Winnie action and was going to have it lopped off and threaded further and chambered for .338 Fed for my .243. Ended up having the threads cut off, shank turned down and it's going onto my Stevens 200 at 22" in .338-06 a really around about way of getting there, but I'll end up with the same money in it. Also having the action professionally bedded with marine tex. Roger Ferrell is doing the work for me. Mike

I just hate the thought of having to stock up on a new caliber of bullets.
Guessing it will be another 30, 8mm or 35 caliber. Got that little ones covered in spades.

This is nearly identical to the project I undertook this winter. I bought a brand new 24" ER Shaw barrel chambered in 338-06 A-Square, the nut-wrench, and go/no-go gauges from Brownells. Had the barrel cut to 22" and a target crown added, Gun Koted the barrel in brushed SS and the other work myself, including marine tex bedding. She is shooting nicely w/ 200 gr Interlocks and 54 gr of RL-1 in R-P 270 WCF cases. How is yours shooting ROTR? Great black bear/elk/moose gun... now if I can just get REALLY lucky on a tag for the at least one of the former two in our state lottery I'll be all set... until then, whitetail "overkill"!

The 338/06 is a fav round of mine for sure. In mine I ran the 200 NBT for the most part, it did awesome on elk/deer/lopes/yotes you name it. It also loved the 200 Horn and that's a bullet I could use for all comers as well. Don't think you need the 225's but hey if they shoot and you wish to use them then rock on. Mine really liked the 250 Nozler Pt and I just loved that old slug and the holes it'd stick in game and how the blood just poured out... Super round, it's easy to work with, you can get your rig to 8 lbs or less and not get beat up and it's incredibly capable. What's not to like about the old OKH. Dober

I shoot 225 Interlocs in mine. The moose finished his step. A 338-06 doesn't push a 225 fast enough to need a premium. I also hear 210Partion is a bit softer than the 225,making it a fine choice for the 338-06. A flat base gives a bit more powder room.
