This is how the XCR should come from the factory, with a HS Precision stock. It'd be the same price as a Sendero, which isn't alot more than the tupperware XCR price now

Looks nice Tod, any chance you weighed that stock?
If I recall right the XCR handle weighs like 26 oz or so and that would be one of my concerns with going with a HS.
Thx Dober

I like that, looks pretty good. I've got a itch for a CRX in .375 H&H. I wont buy one until I have the money for the rifle and a new stock to replace the ugly plastic that come from Remy.

I thought it was about that weight. Like I said I think that the factory XCR handle is about 26 oz so by going HS the weight goes up a fair bit.
Still looks nice!
Cal and how's it shoot?
Thx Dober

300WSM, shoots pretty good. Crazy Man! In a few more weeks I'll post my XCR with its new stock... I had no idea how rough my SPS SS finish was, til I picked up the XCR. Boy is it smooth...

The action on this XCR is nice and smooth, and of course the action/barrel finish is really nice compared to a SPS SS. It's used, but not abused thats for sure. Rifle looks mint. Couldn't refuse for $500 in the tupperware

If I recall right the XCR handle weighs like 26 oz or so and that would be one of my concerns with going with a HS. just weighed both. 38oz for the HS, 30oz for the plastic XCR stock

So if yours is 7.9lbs with that 38oz stock, mine should be about 7lbs even with the 23oz stock? Or just a tad over that...

got it for $400 canadian. In comparison a Mcmillan would be $540 Cdn and a 6 month wait. I do prefer the Mcmillan but the HS is not a bad stock at all.
Tony, that rifle of yours is a beauty. I would expect a 700 in a light stock with a normal leupold in talleys to go around 7 lbs maybe a bit less

Thanks. Have to say seeing that gray would have me second guessing the black if I had to do it over again.

That's a very nice looking set-up. I had a Rem 700 in 22-250 that came with an HS-Precision stock and it shot lights-out!! You should get a lot of mileage outta yours..... I have a XCR in 270 and it's a tack-driver in the factory tupperware. I should've ordered a McMillan for it before I shot it.....now I'm just stuck with a super accurate factory-blah rifle.

Plus one, Nebraska (so there! ) I bought my XCR intending to restock it, and only bought an XCR at all because it was the only .338 Big Green was cataloging right then. Thing was... The damn thing SHOOTS, and to top it off, it's proven to be extremely stable and reliable, in terms of not shifting zero due to hold, bipod, rest, etc. I will add, I've hunted that rifle in actual "extreme" conditions. Those grippy pads are actually very nice, in snow and freezing rain and so on.
The CENTER will hold.

I think this is the route I'll go with my next XCR. Its a toss-up between 270 WSM and 300 WSM. I think I will go McEdge in OD Green or another B&C Ultralight in OD Green.
