I know it's not a 260 but it is very close but Ruger makes a 24" Hawkeye in 6.5 Creedmoor. You will have to handload to get any reasonable loads. Hornady is the only source for ammo and they only have a 120 and a 140 amax load. The cartridge has virtually the same capacity as the 260 and maybe a little more using heavy bullets. I just got one and it seems to want to shoot very well.

BLRNUT, I did a write-up (very informal) on my compact 260 a few weeks ago. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...uger_MK_2_Compact_260_report#Post3120900Seattlesetters, there was a MK stainless 260 with a 22 inch barrel for $500 (new) at a shop in inch barrel you are looking for, but it was there when I was there if you are interested.

Don't grasp how folks can wear hearing protection whilst hunting. You're not the only one.....In the Southern Pines you hear em long before you ever see em and you don't see em for very long so you better be ready.
