I'd like to go to Sverige when I retire to hunt moose(elk)and cariboos. Anyone ever done that? Or have any links to Swedish hunting forums?

Lots of opportunities to hunt moose but hunting caribou (called reindeer here, but is the same species) is not allowed. However, you can hunt them in the adjacent mountains of Norway.

There a lots of other species to hunt as well -- I think the link I gave gives a good list if I recall correctly.

Check out www.krokstad.se. Great hunting there. Caribou/reindeer has to be hunted in the mountains of Norway.It`s only domestic caribou in Sweden.

Caribou season starts at august 20 and ends on september 30, moose september 25 until october 31, some places october 05 until october 31, so you have to stay for 2-3 weeks to be able to hunt caribou and moose.

In '91, I shot a cow moose in Sweden during the Norma Moose Hunt.
