Last year I traded my TACO 07 18 mpg for a 09 COROLLA 40 mpg. From day one the Corolla has gotten 40.0 MPG + or - depends upon what gas I use. I got $7,000 in boot with the trade from the taco to the corolla, which I put towards a hunting rig, with cash left over. The hunting rig is a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 V6 extra cab with 140,000 mi which I paid $5,500 cash. Its in excellent condition except it needs a automatic trans rebuild. My question is, should I have the trans on the Ford ranger rebuilt or trade it and take my chances?

rebuild it... Then you know exactly what you have..

I bought a '98 Ranger 4X4 w/151M on the clock for my son.. Had the local shop (GREAT guys, BTW) go through it wall to wall.. Cost another 3 grand to get it up to snuff.. But it's a great truck for him and I know it's going to last a while..

I'd fix the Ranger. Trade it in and you don't know what you're going to end up with. Fix it and you know what you have. The rest of that truck would probably fall off, before you'd have to rebuild the tranny again, if done correctly.

Usually some form of meat filling wrapped in a tortilla. They sell 'em all over around here.

They make Toyota TACOmas here too wink
