Ok guys, Pamm, my south-pawed office manager wants a 243 for deer season this fall and I told her that I'd put the word out and see what you guys could come up with.

Keep in mind that it will be restocked after season with a McMillan, but for now she just needs something that she can shoot this season, since the McMillan wait is out of the question.

ADL or BDL makes no difference, as you might imagine...........(grin)

She's pretty recoil sensitive, so it's 243 or bust.

Matt,

I know where a 22-250 is for a good deal with HS stock and varmint barrel, I believe only about 40 rounds through it. If you're interested call me at 734-652-7271. It's not mine but I know who has it.

It was still for sale as of yesterday.

Have her get a lefty youth model Rem 700 SPS in .243....

I did that and put a used McM Sporter on mine, love it.

'Course I couldn't help punching it AI...

If she's petite enough, which I'm guessing with the recoil sensitivity thing, the youth stock should fit her well enough to get her through this season, then get her the McM later.

The 20" tube on the youth model is easy to wield as well.

My buddy's GF was recently talked into trading the POS Stevens she bought her kid for a new 700 SPS youth, right handed. I mounted a scope on it for him and couldn't help but think the youth stock fit me pretty good for a short "pack" rifle, and I'm 6'4".

As far as how they shoot?

Mine's slayed a dozen deer, a truckload of woodchucks, and three turkeys, in the past year. I routinely shoot 700 yard steel just for kicks. The 85 to 87 grain weight bullets are the cat's ass in those tubes......

She found a new one, but it was quite a trip to take to go get it. I told her I'd check on here first and see what we could come up with. The Mickey is more or less on order, she just needs the donor.
