Since I have a fair amount of experience in manufacturing at production levels and have a pretty good idea as to the market standing, what in the world is taking the primer industry so long in catching up?

Had I been in that business, I would have been gearing up in Sept. of last year to get cranking, but now we've seen several months of the suppliers falling short of meeting demand.

It would be nice to hear from someone on the inside as to what's really going on with the primer production. Is there some sort of red tape bs that's holding the show up, or are they really that far behind on real-world production?

I gots lots to reload and need some caps...........

From what I've heard from the manufacturers (asked a bunch at the NRA show) they've simply been trying to catch up to demand.. I think most figured there would be some increase but NO ONE forsaw the sales demand for firearms, ammo and reloading supplies..

no primers? Thats sad. Too bad you did not heed your own advice, and stock up back in September '08

Who said I didn't stock up???

Doesn't mean I don't want more.

I've only got about 6,000 right now, but I'm running low on small rifle primers.
