A knee injury and advice from several here has lead me to the conclusion that I'm going to be using trekking poles this Sept in the NM Rockies.

For hikes in/out and carrying meat (God help me), I'm going to use two.

What are you guys using to secure your bow to your pack? Looks like Kifaru quit making the bow bearer. The only one I'm seeing is the Eberlestock offering.

Thoughts?

I use the Blacks Creek Jim Horn Western pack. It has a bow carrier bag, along with several straps to secure the bow to the pack. Works great.

I have a Osprey Aether 70 that I use on my back packing trips, it has straps that come down the front of the pack and a pocket that I sit my bow in, works great while i'm hiking around looking for game.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

I use a Granite Gear Flatbed. Essentially a load sling. No pockets or carrier bags.

I don't know anything about that pack, can you buy straps and criss cross them on the front of your pack? Is there anything to attach the straps too?

Yah, there's webbing that I could use a strap and anchor it to. I was just looking for somethign a little quicker/easier. That may be the route I go though.

I didn't realize you could use the kifaru gun bearer with a bow. I will have to investigate that.
