I entertain the question...
i think that for some reason a lot of dogs pick up on the energy that many blacks put out.
And when a person is afraid of the dog the dog feels it and capitalizes on it.
I dont have any other explanation.

except for the ones they know, pretty much. but since they've been regularly fed by colored folks all their lives, they're willing to be convinced that new ones are OK.
I introduced them to a black cable guy who had to get in the back yard last week and ten minutes later one was humping his leg....BFFs.
of course, they're not too keen on white people they don't know, either.

Wow... No my German Shepherd is not a racist. She will gladly tear anyone a new a-hole that breaks into my home. Black, white, hispanic, asian, I guess that makes her a Equal oppurtunity dog or EOD. I adopted my rottie from the local shelter. she was 2 yrs old,and barks at blacks on TV. she hates obamma with a passion. if a black comes to my house I can introduce her to them and she will tolerate them. black children are ok by her and treats them like any other children. she loves any child. She likes to watch cops on tv and tries to help catch the blacks that the cops are chasing. she gets really excited and I sometimes have to change the channel. So she is a racist to adult blacks.

by energy i mean, obvious to people not reading into it, that MANY black people are deathly afraid of dogs.
esspecialy boxers, shepards, rotts and dobbies...
does the dog feel this energy?
I know that people in fear give of different auroas and smells. do the dogs see/feeel this and look to capitalize?
or do they just not like people with dark skin?

well he lived out on a ranch in duval county so he usaully knew who was coming out to his place. he would kennel the dog if he had to

Don't know about blacks but my old heeler didn't like mexicans OR cops. Might have been feeding off my energy? A friend of mine had a heeler and it didn't like mexicans either.

This is a well known phenomenon, but if raised by blacks the effect is reversed.

Think about it, if you raised your dog like a human being and when you leave and go to work; your dog is sitting there alone by themselves with nothing to do. Don�t think they are going to waste the entire day just waiting for you to show up hours later and turn on the lights in a dark house acting like you love them, only to do it all over again the next day. No they are watching television when you are gone....We all know that most people who have no real contact with Black people get their image and views of Black people from television and movies. This means that 7 out of 10 ten times every Black person they see is a pimp, hooker, homeless, criminal, or drug dealer, or reality-show psycho-crazy loud mouth. I�ll never forget the damage watching continual episodes of �Ten-speed & Brown shoe� and the Martin show did to my psyche. I�m just glad that I don�t have to endure the pain of trying to explain to my daughter who Flavor Flav is? When I�m in the Burbs some white folks still expect me to beatbox my way into McDonalds. The dogs see the same portrayals of Black people that everyone else does. Maybe dogs watch cop shows and realize that they can pretty much do whatever they want to Blacks and violate the rights of innocent Blacks just to solve a crime that someone else may have done or that a Black person may be thinking of doing?...

when was the last time you saw a judge on a TV show who wasn't a black woman.
Morgan Freeman has gotten rich playing the kind wise black guy....even God sometimes.

or do they just not like people with dark skin? I think you've got a good point. From my experience, dogs use very little logic in their behavior. Most of their behavior is based on emotion and "energy". That's part of the pack dynamic in their genes and why they can join a group and sense where they fit in almost instantly. If a dog is in the presence of another person, they will reflect emotional stability or lack there of from that person. If the person is calm and confident, the dog will likely be calmer. This is why intruders are attacked imo. There is a certain amount of fear and adrenaline and a sense of not belonging that the intruder gives off and the dog picks that up. The dog will also pick up on the energy of the owner in the presence of another person. So, if the owner is not okay with an approaching person, the dog will be more in tune with the owner and react accordingly.

I used to own a Dobe that for some reason hated Indians (Native). I don't know why, he never bothered anyone else, and never caught an Indian, but he would go crazy on leash every time we saw one. Maybe he didn't want to get ate?
Can't say how he would of done with Blacks, we never saw any of those out here.
Too many people buy stuff they don't want, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like!

Ages ago, I read an article on dogs aggression towards blacks. One point that made sense is that dogs raised by whites see the faces of blacks as "negative space" and become confused.
