Well, I went and did it. I sold my Hoyt X-Tec and Trykon. Had to move to a bow noy so heavy. Yup, I know, I'll miss my Hoyts. Shot deer & wood chucks with both of them. Just so darn heavy with all the bells & whistles.

I purchased the Mathews DXT. Shorter and less weight. Very smooth to draw and shoots fantastic. 60 / 70lbs set at 65lbs. I didn't have to purchase new arrows or cut them to length. All set-up and ready to go this season. Bring on the brown fur grin....................

Congrats on your new DXT!
You'll love it, I'm sure.
Go to the Mathews website, and join up on the forum. There are a lot of very knowledgeable Mathews shooters there, with useful info.

You'll love it. That's a sweet shooting little bow. I looked hard at it, but chose the Switchback XT as I just couldn't tell much difference while shooting the two. I do like the XT more than the LX I sold, but the LX was alittle faster.

Good Luck with the new rig,

loder

You've GOT my next bow! I'm going to wait until next year and score one for sure. Never been anything bad said about that bow. Very few come up for sale.

Enjoy,
Taylor

I shoot one. I had a Switchback, but a limb broke after being submerged in the Gulf for a few days. I didn't want to wait for a new limb (it was warranteed) so I traded. They are both really nice bows.

Mathews in my opinion is the more efficient and quietest Bow on the market, pound for pound. Congrats on your new Bow, welcome to the Right side of Archery. Bowsite.com has some good information as well on everything.

Since I purchased the DXT, I shoot a dozen arrows every morning at my Block. Not to pull off a Robin Hood but to get into shape for up-coming season. Work the muscles and be consistant with my draw, anchor, hold and release. Practice and more practice. It's definately a sweet bow.

The 5 P's ! I like that ! A fellow co-worker told me about a few of his hits on deer. 3 gut shots and a couple of back leg hits. I wanted to punch him in the face. I told him to prctice or get the heck out of the woods. Wounded all those deer and never retrieved any of them. Dying a slow death with gut shots. What an idiot.
