I am looking for the Chia Tea recipe that was posted sometime last winter. Heading down to my base next week and want to gather the supplies I'll need prior to leaving the land of the big BX.

Found it. BTW it is chai not chai tee. Chai is the East Indian word for tea so chai tea is saying tea tea.

How to make Chai Wasala (from Kenya)

Place three cups of water in a saucepan.
Add the following:
6 whole cloves
4 cardamom pods
2 cinnamon sticks
a pinch of nutmeg
a dash of black pepper
a slice of ginger root or 1/4 tsp of powered ginger
1/4 cup sugar

Bring to a simmer, cover and allow simmer 1 hour
Remove from heat, add 2 black tea bags and steep 5-6 minutes
Pour syrup through a mesh strainer to remove spices and tea bags
Add 3 cups hot milk, pour into warm mugs and share with someone you love.

Note: Syrup (without milk) can be stored in fridge to use when needed. To serve add one part syrup with one part milk and heat.

WARNING!!!
Do not try this unless you are prepared to give up on the store bought crap. One taste of the above and you will be spoiled for life!

Besides, my preferred brand of rum is Guatemalan; Ron Zapaca Centenario. Twenty Three Anos, dark, and smooth as a baby's butt.

That a billion Indians like it is of little import. There is not a single damn thing in India that interests me, the food and beverages least of all.

Can't buy that in WY I even had the liquor store go to the liquor commission!

damn shame Keith. If you ever get down this way, I'll hook you up with a couple of bottles, and you can fly them home in your checked luggage.

Wish I would kave knwon about this stuff when I was down there a few years ago. I'll figure something out!
