Never owned or fooled with Savage bolt guns at all, but frequently see them in the local pawn shops.
Don't need '06 or .270, but would love to build a light and accurate .260.
Any problem with feeding if I bolt a .260 barrel onto a long action Savage?

you should be fine, it will feed even better with the long 6.5mm bullets sticking out to the lands

I recently installed a 257R barrel on a long action. I would have preferred a short action, but have had zero problems with feeding. Bedding is finished, time to stat shooting again.

When savage was having serious financial problems, they started making all the rifles on long actions. You'll have no problems, and as mentioned, you can use those real long ld projectiles and NO worries about mag length.
for the life of me I have no idea why the 110's never caught on as switchbarrel rifles
