My old boss hated the cold, but liked to deer hunt. He had a large elevated stand that both he and his wife could hunt from. It had sliding windows, a propane heater, recliners, tv and other amenities. His wife shot a number of deer from it.
Tzone, do you recall seeing the large elevated blind between Wausau and Tomahawk that looked like a cabin? It was on the West side of Hyway 51 if I remember right.

Bill, I saw that stand this weekend. Big enough for me to have taken note of it as I passed!

Check out this one fron Natchez.I bought three of them two years ago.I love it.12 pounds and the chair is made in.Takes about 15 seconds to set up or take down. Last year I had a doe almost stick her head in the window.Turkeys pay it no attention.Light rain will not bother you.Sleep is soooo good in the chair. http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=JVAAG950Stan in SC

Yeah I do. There is one on each side of the road. Big old fire tower lookin' stand. Can't imagine sitting in one of those. That just isn't me.

Stan, I've seen these, but passed on them as I think they'd collapse under a snow load or freezing rain. I have a Ameristep blind that did just that some years back and haven't used it since.

I don't like heights so they're not for me either. Just wonder how they ever got that thing up there?

28 here this morning and a heavy coat of frost. I think the growing season is done with and the heating season has begun.

Colorado, You be careful driving that overnite shift. Nothing will ruin your next 50 years faster than crashing one of those. Mountain Dew is your friend! I just heard our furnace kick on while typing that last sentence. A balmy 36 here again, but with the little tykes running around Mama must have turned the heat up. Footings were poured yesterday on the house and Cole is running a lemonade stand today. Think I might stop by for a glass if it ain't too expensive. Just about everyone in my hunting party hunts out of box stands except me. I am still in the portable. But I see more deer, and closer!

I'll be careful, I set my classes up to all be in the morning, so I'll be tired at school, then I sleep for 5 hours before getting into the truck, I don't hit the caffeine til about 11 or so, so I don't have that coming down tired while I'm still on the road. I'm also gonna use those 5 hour energy drinks, they are spendy but they work.

I was thinking of stopping by Cole's lemonade stand later today. Question is, how much is a guy willing to pay for lemonade these days? If it is too expensive, I will obviously have to pass. What is the going rate for a glass of lemonade in your area from a cute little guy battling cancer? 50 cents? 75 cents? Man, I dunno if I can go a buck, that seems a little excessive, isnt it? I suppose the size of the glass makes a difference and if it is generic lemonade mix or brand name. Freshly squeezed would be worth another dime I suppose. Anybody know of any resources I could check out to help me gauge the value of said glass of lemonade? I suppose I could call the bank and see if they could give me a loan and what price they think is fair. Any other ideas?
