Hey Guys,
Quick question, how do you organize your gear inside your packs? Example: do you run alot of separate bags, a few bags, any waterproof bags or just pile it all in a separate as needed?

I use a combination of mesh stuff sacks, silnylon stuff sacks and ziploc bags.

Stuffsacks and ziplocs. Overnight or weekend, not so many bags.

Anybody know of a good source online for silnylon stuff sacks ? I've looked around, and seen some at Kifaru, but boy those are spendy for what they are. any other sources ? thanks.

REI. Also look at the lightweight but coated nylon bags, very slightly heavier but cheaper and tougher.

Like was said before, Walmart has a 3 pack assortment of nylon coated bags that are pretty good and very cheap.
Sea to Summit is a place to look online.

I'll second the Sea to Summit bags. As an extra added bonus, if you know how to use them they're waterproof  I use them on my MR Crewcab quite a bit. Its nice to be able to offload all your bulky stuff at camp, reducing pack volume and weight for hunting.

I agree that the Kif pull outs are a little pricey, but I sure like the lay flat design with full lengh zipper. Much easier to find stuff in them than a dark stuff sack. OR makes some that are similiar that are a little cheaper as well.

I'm dividing stuff into ziplocs (1st aid, hygeine, etc.). For the hike in everythings going into a S2S dry bag and getting sucked down tight in my Crew Cab. Then it'll get dumped, camp set up, and my daypack stuff tucked into the pack's pockets.

I've been using the silnylon bags I buy in 3 packs at Wally World for about $10. They've held up very well. I keep my emergency kit in one, camera & gps, etc. in another and my food in the larger one. I've really come to like the surivial kit in the smaller bag as when I'm fly fishing in just my shorts, etc a mile or so from camp, I just clip it around my belt and I don't need to carry my pack or stuff my pockets - all my necessities are there, waterproof (for the most part) and easily accessible.
