If you had to pick one for combo of hunting/ bench rest what would you choose? My dad wanted me to post this for him as he's looking at both in the Kimber Classic Select. thanks

260 is alot of fun if you shoot alot. 7-08 is a helluva doe popper. I shoot every weekend, I'd go 260 today....By morning I'd change gears for the 7-08.
I GOT IT!!!! Have him buy both, you can help him kill lots of critters.

Flip a coin for dad, heads 260, tails 7mm08. Keep flippin' until it comes up tails! No rationale, except I love my 7-08's and don't have a 260 yet...and the factory ammo available for the 7-08. DJ

Make him buy one of each. One for both of you and take turns.
I've got both calibers. Don't make me pick.....

Hard to choose. Probably the 7-08, I suppose, though I've a soft spot for the 6.5mm bore.

I'd lean towards the 260 because I have one and it has always served me well. Don't think you could go wrong with the 7-08 either.

Flip a coin for dad, heads 260, tails 7mm08. I like that approach Its no secret, I'm probably the biggest cheerleder for the 260 on the Campfire. But if your Dad don't reload, then he wants a 7-08. If he does reload, then the 260 gets the nod.

I've yet to see ANY projectile leave a 260 that wasn't poison on deer. You really wanna see something cool, zap one at 100 yards with a 100 grain Partition going 3180 FPS Toilet Seat load

Haven't you heard??? Kimbers, especially in .260, don't shoot worth a hoot... They don't kill things either... And one other thing. Absolutely don't try the Barnes 120 grn TSX

Ingwe Laffin my ass off here The Willy's was too damn funny, I thought for sure you sent that one to me. Whole time I was thinking, "what a perverted old man... I thought he had an Eye Fettish..." "Mebbe he meant Brown Eye" What are the odds that the two Toms I know would both send me an e-mail within the same half hour timeframe. As for the rest of my post.... A 260 running 100 grain Ballistic Tips at ~3200 FPS. Recoil is non-existant, and it flattens critters that size faster than my wife can slam down the toilet seat I keep leaving up
