My 2000 Ranger XLT 4X4 is wearing 245X75R16" tires, Which are badly worn. I found a used like NEW take off's 235X85R16" UNIROIL LOREDO for $375.00.
What is the difference between the 245& 235 & the 75R & 85R#
Will the 235X85R16 fit my RANGER 4X4without rubbing issues?

The 245x75R16 is about a 31 inch tire and the 235x85R16 is about a 31.5 inch tire. The 235 is about an inch narrower than the 245. Shouldn't be a problem.

the first number (235 & 245 in this case) is the tread width in millimeters.

the second number (85 & 75) is the aspect ratio (wall height to tread width ratio)

R = radial

the third number is the rim diameter in inches

so:

the second tire is also a Radial of the same rim diameter but is both less wide and taller

I use to have a guide as to the measurement's of R RATED tires and not sure what I did with it.

You are replacing all 4, right?

On two wheel drive it would be alright to just make sure the tires on each axle are the same, and if the front was a different size than the rear it would not matter too much, but being a 4X4, you need to make all four tires the same size.

235/85s are typically a 10-ply rated tire and are now, somewhat antiquated. They have been largely replaced by 245 75s and 265 75s, both of which are more frequently an 8-ply rated tire. The latter are also available in 6- ply rating which would serve you mo better.

You really don't want those E-rated tires on your Ranger; you will hate them.
