I'm going on my yearly backpack hunt in the Adirondack Mountains in November. Normally, I go for 5 days but this year will be 11 days. The total hunt will cover 13 miles. As food/fuel will be an issue, does anyone know of a lightweight campfire tripod I could bring?

Correct, for cooking over an open fire.

Never used such a thing backpacking either. Seems like that's for the deer cabin and the big camp where you are stewing dinner all afternoon whole sipping whiskey.

Check out the combi saw. Also works as a pot hanger and grill. combisaw

I'd think something like either of these would work as well or better than a tripod:

Not a tripod, but a very useful piece of kit that is extremely light and very well made. I have the streamside packer model.

Just carry some rope, and tie 3 sticks together. You make it on site and throw it away when you are done. You can look up some easy knots to make one. Just use some rope and a hook stick to hang the pot or carry a lightweight tramel chain.

Don't use synthetic rope unless you like picking dinner out of the coals. Use something that won't melt.

That gets my vote too.

If you were cooking with a Dutch oven right next to your truck, then maybe a tripod would be handy. For backpacking, it's just extra stuff you won't want to carry.
