We were hunting the SD opener and here are some pictures.
We limited the first day (14 hunters 42 birds). The second day, we killed about 25 birds and the last day of the hunt we limited again.
We walked our butts off and made more pushes than I can count.
All reports said that SD had a record hatch and birds were going to be thick, that is not what we found.
There was so much food in the fields that the birds were not bunched up at all. Some of corn was still green and could not be cut.
I guess that between all the food and a high temp of 81 on Sunday, that was the hardest day to hunt. I guess SD had a lot of rain this year and so they still had lots of corn in the field.
Most important thing is that everyone had a good time and we had a safe hunt.
