Wabo,I am happy that the kiddos are on the mend.I know that makes you feel better. Good pictoral,Dave.By golly that forky toe track is big judging by the beer can.You have much bigger deer there than we do here in the South.Average here is about 100 to 120 pounds. The original stocking here in South Carolina and in Georgia was done with deer from the barrier islands on the coast which are a small breed.Conversely the deer in the state of Alabama are much bigger having been stocked in the 60's with deer from the northern states. My biggest was an 8 pointer killed in Alabama in 1980 which weighed 246 pounds on the hoof.I shot him five times with a Marlin 30-30.Every time I shot him it seemed he just stopped a moment and shook it off and continued walking. When I got to him I was unable to drag him alone.Oh well, enough deer story. You had a fine weekend. Thanks for sharing it.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Hey ND, the burger was pretty good considering never found out what it quite was. we had some good beers to chase it down too. Always fun on the chickenbuck. we got some Dandy trails mowed up where we hunt and seen a few deers as well. It should be an alright deer season comin up, if not so many deers we'll find something to do anyways....Thanks again Dave

You guys have heard me entertain the idea that ole forky toes buck may be gone, dead or moved on. well, i'd like to retract such foolishness. The foolishness is the beer you were drinking. This ain't forky's year.

Tom, the old 35's are great deer guns. The new Hornady lever evolution ammo gives them a boast in power.

I went up to our camp this weekend to try to arrow a ruty stinky sumbitch. Stayed in little ol' camper that we use until it gets cold. Pretty day in the woods. [img:center] [/img] one more shot. [img:center] [/img] Here is a view of the camp...and yes, I had to use dat polaris for the weekend, because I don't have a wheeler any more. dang squeaky, no workin' 4x4 polaris' [img:center] [/img] One more shot of camp. The guy sneaking out from around the camper, and with his back to the camera in this shot is my wife's uncle Dave. Good guy. that is his wheeler with the corn. He saw deer, I didn't. Now that looks like deer hunting weather Tom. I'm heading up to our camp Saturday to put up the new blind. Platform is built and ready to be assembled in the woods.

the mower held up good, tzone, that trusty polaris you got there is identical to Lestifer's. i made him pull the mower through the swamp grass with his, kinda hard to manuever the ranger around through the trees. Won't be long by the sounds of it and we may have snow. Can just about smell the deer camp already...

That Magnum in that picture has easily has 2K work of repairs to it. Not mine, it's my FIL's. I'll quit bashing them, because I like you...and lestifer. I just haven't had luck with them, but in Polaris' defense, I've seen some do things that they shouldn't be able to do, and they still work.

My late brother had his tie downs break and watched his new Polaris come out of the trailer, flip end for end a half dozen times and end up in the ditch on it's side. Lucky no cars were behind him. When they got back to the machine they tiped it upright, turned the key and it fired right up. He rode it back to the trailer on 4 bent rims. Insurance company totalled it.

Dave Dave Dave...my brother. I understand about tough times and tight belts, but this time of year calls for a touch of the Crown and something, anything besides the "Beast"
