I have a friend that is looking for a scope with a small objective. It is for a WIn 88, so maybe a 4X with a 32mm would be good. Is any manufacture making these anymore?? Seems the trend is toward 50mm objective lenes.

Find a burris short mag, or compact mag.
Think they call them the timberline series now.

Look for Leupold's old classic M8 4x 28mm.

Bart, My #1 Ruger is currently wearing an IOR 4x32. A bit heavy because of the steel tube, but man! the optics are stellar. Mine is in 4A reticle. Just superb in my opinion... http://swfa.com/IOR-4x32-Hunting-Rifle-Scope-P6742.aspx

I was thinking 'small objective' would be more like 20mm....
But since you were asking about a fixed 4x, I find my Leup FX-II 4X quite impressive.
I know that Weaver and Nikon make a fixed 4x for less cash too.

If you need a lot of eye relief you can get a SIGHTRON SII 4X32 for around $180.00 from SWFA website. It has 4.52 inches of eye relief and is fully multi coated and very compact but it doesnt have much mounting room,

I recently bought a Burris Timberline 2x7x26 to put on my old Marlin 336 30-30. The rifle came with a Leupold base and rings but there was no way that short scope could be mounted in that set up so i bought a Weaver rail and a set of Millet angle lock rings and it fit perfectly. Nice short light scope. Modestly priced as well.

Coyboybart,
I have an El Passo K2.5 Weaver which almost fits the discription. Make an offer.
