That's exactly what I'm running into. I much prefer the DRC, but can't find one.

Marlin is supposed to have the SBL levers available around the end of the year, I think for $65-ish. My understanding is they will likely make blue ones if there is enough demand.

The SBL is pistol-grip and I have a Guide gun, so that still leaves me out...

DRC was discintiuned from Brownells. I may have to see if someone close by has an SBL. If it will fit the GG I would buy it. But looking at photo's i think the angle is wrong.

I could be wrong, but I ASSumed the blued ones, if Marlin makes them would be for the straight grip (no need to make a blued one for the SBL).

Regular 1895s are pistol grip, too. A lot of people enquire about conversions, either way, but Marlin will not sell the part that the lever fits against, don't recall the name of it rightaway. You have to send it to them for conversion. That, or find somebody that wants to swap.

I like the looks of a straight grip stock better, but the pistol grip seems to be easier on the hand, recoil-wise.

It would be nice if they would make a larger straight-grip lever.

The lever, for whatever reason will have to be shipped to an FFL, so maybe it will have some additional parts included from the receiver to convert more easily. I'm sure there will have to be straight and curved, but maybe they won't do both, who knows.

I'll have to keep an ear open to that. Looks like the DRC won't be available anytime soon, and the WWG is just too big for my taste. My hands fit the factory lever ok, it's just that it can get a little snug with gloves on in the colder weather, so one just a little larger than factory original would be perfect.

Thanks for the info.

Probably.

WWG does it with 1894 levers, or wants one in exchange. I really don't want a whole lot more room, just enough for gloves to slip in/out with a little more ease.

If it gets to be to big a problem, I'll do like I have been..

I was on another site where a Marlin employee posts. People were asking about the acronyms and one of the ones he posted was GBL (like SBL) and that it stood for guide gun big loop, meaning it was a big loop lever guide gun, blued.

Davidsons lists the GBL on their site but Marlin does not on theirs. I think Marlin just came out with a blued version of the SBL. The GBL is a blued guide gun with brown laminate stock and large loop. Sounds like they'll have blued big levers soon. I don't know if it'll be straight stocks or not though.

Or, does everyone already know this? I was confused by the GBL acronym because I hadn't seen a Marlin with a big lever except my SBL.

Ok, can somebody educate me on wild West vs. DRC?

I can guess. When I search, I can see it's "important", but I'm not finding any pictures.

Thanks

I don't think Chuck Conners would have approved of either one of them, let alone The Duke.
