I'm getting ready to head out for the 4th season, cow tag in hand.
This will be my son's first Elk hunt so we both are excited.

Good luck to you guys, there's plenty of elk in the area, tons of public land. But the question always remains: can you find them and will they cooperate?

Good luck, we leave for GMU 18 and 181 on Monday, first time to hunt elk in Colorado.

MarkR, maybe we'll see 'ya up there. Hunting same area, hearing about a couple very large herds in the area past few days - let's hope they are still there come opening morning!! Sounding like it could be a little damp and sloppy - love it!!

Best of luck!!

I know the area really good up over Keebler Pass but if the snow has pushed them down it will be another thing.
I am really happy I can take my son to one of my favorite places and hunt my favorite big game animal.
We am staying in Canyon City tonight, will get over there first thing in the morning and see what I can locate.
Hope it snows a bunch!
Maybe we will see you there.
Mark

The weather is great but where are the elk? Probably laying up in the snow trying to keep cool would be my guess.

I hope the snow brings them out, sightings are few and far between.

The storm front is moving in right now. I'll bet watching some meadows would be productive today.

I went up North of Taylor Lake this afternoon snowing really good.
Only saw cow and calf tracks though, maybe will be good tomorrow.
