I been playing with a blitz jig straight clamp on 2" blazer
I think I had a little too much off set on the old one I like to ask the pros what are your views should I stay with the more off set or what?

Mine gets a 2 degree offset, I preferr a slight spin on my arrows versus straight...you will have to experiment on which will be more consistant with your particular setup.

My personal preference is for more offset when it comes to straight vane setups so as to afford some "forgiveness."

As you probably are aware, impact points will change if you vary the offset/helical of your vanes. So whatever you elect to try, definitely give it a good test at the range.

I use the offset with my Blazers. I also like use the loctite super glue gel to stick em down.

See what flies best with your broadheads, but can't see how you can ever go wrong with the offset.

Little off topic here, but how is it 5 years ago you had to have 3) 5" vanes to control a broadhead and now 3) 2" vanes will do the trick? They do, and it works, but what has changed. Is it a huge amount of offset to get the same frontal area? I know they are typically a bit taller, but they have no where near the surface area.

Good point. I think the following could have happened (just wild arse guesses):

1) The short vanes were never tried, thus the misconception. Don't forget, vanes evolved from feathers, which were always long.

2) I do believe the blazers are taller.

3) They seem to be stiffer.

4) Rests sure have come a long way. Clearance is not the issue it once was, so maybe better flight allowed the use of short vanes?
