well you know you're a real hunter when you're wearing a bear head on YOUR head.

a wise and saturated man once told me that, a few times I think smile

I had a blast, thanks again Dave for opening your door to me to come up, and I can't wait to see you this weekend!

T-zone,

You need to get some see-thru's on that rifle so you don't miss! That's the problem right there. Maybe try some of that packaged deer poo the Packer Fans like to snack on? grin

See-tru's....got it. smile. That must have been the reason.

I deserved a miss, the night before I was talking all smart about how I only need to shoot once. But then again...I did only shoot once. grin

I'm just kidding... but Dave's not going to be there, he'll be with us for the WI hunting season.

Tom, do you think you could put in a good word for me with ole Forky Toes and have him leave a nice new Tikka in 6.5x55 by my tree?

Tell your partner we could really use him at our camp. Lots of swamps so we certainly have to have the dreaded swamp squids that we'll need protection from. smile

I was rolling on the ground because I didn't realize what it took to kill a jack rabbit. Now that I know, I don't think I will try it. Unless I have more than 2 rounds with me. And because I didn't spill any on my shirt. Or maybe the campfire wood ran into me.

I'm glad nobody got a picture of me sittinig in the mud. I had to wash my NEW blaze orange jacket 4 times to get all the mud out. I'm glad I wasn't alone or I would have ended feet up like the deer did.

I have not talked to dad yet, but we were talking either Wednesday or Thursday.

Isn't that the way it goes. He never saw a deer in the stand when it was over there.

I only know of two people that got nice bucks last weekend. They were both shot on Saturday, from the same stand. One at 11:30 and the other at 4 or so. One is a 10 pointer and the other looked like a 12.

Seriously humans, I have to give a big thanks to all that participated in week one of camp chickenbuck 2009.

What a fantastic group, high energy, enthusiasm, everybody contributed with great food & camp items... I could go into typical dave detail but you all know what I'm talking about.

Tzone bought an out of state tag to come hunt with us & he hit it hard like everybody else.

All the hunters hit it hard & I was proud & happy to be surrounded by such a group of commited hunters.

Git in ma belly! The only pic of the finished ribs is in my mind. Good God those suckers good. Best ribs I've ever had Dave.

My wife makes great ribs, but you are the grill master. I'm using that method from now on.

Oh sure I'll hunt with you next year, thanks for the invite. grin

I'm a little embarrassed I didn't hit it a little harder on Saturday noon time, we'd have had buck hangin' by evening. That sly sucker freshened those scrapes while were having a noon time siesta.

There needs to be a ladder or a stand in that area. It is too good not to cover.
